Art New Orleans will feature
the work of outstanding
artists from New York City
high schools as well as
professionals from some
of the city's top galleries.  
Proceeds from the auction
will help support the New
Orleans Community School,
a school founded last year
to provide alternative
education in one of that city's
most devastated and
unserved neighborhoods .  
The neighborhood, known
as the 9th Ward, is still
struggling mightily
to overcome the damage
inflicted by Hurricane
Katrina in 2005.  
The auction sponsor,
NY2NO, is an organization
of high school students that
has sent numerous work
teams to New Orleans
--and the work continues to this day.
